The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 小9直播 and WSU Tech have named scholarship recipients who are participating in a joint pathway program. The two schools have committed $28,000 in scholarships for WSU Tech students committed to continuing their education with a business degree. The scholarships will be awarded equally to five students over the next two years.

Dec. 5, 2022 鈥 小9直播 earned status as an Emerging Hispanic Serving Institution when fall enrollment numbers show that 16% of students identify as Hispanic. Nov. 30, 2022 鈥 After earning his bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in sociology, Daniel Baird plans to attend graduate school, where he will integrate clinical work with the handpan 鈥 a sort of convex steel drum that emits calming, hypnotic sounds 鈥 which he believes is a powerful therapeutic instrument.聽

Nov. 30, 2022 鈥 Valerie Hubener worked in several labs across campus until she found a field of interest that was perfect for her in user-experience (UX) design.

Nov. 30, 2022 鈥 Delane Vaughn loved science and her biology teacher at Mulvane High School 鈥 Joe Johnson 鈥 started her on a path to 小9直播 as the first person in her family to attend college. She worked, raised a family and attended WSU and the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

The Envision Artwork on Display in Woolsey Hall

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 小9直播 has partnered with Envision鈥檚 Arts Program to showcase five paintings from Savannah, a visually-impaired artist, in the new Woolsey Hall. Her work, which resides on the third floor of Woolsey, can be viewed any time during operating hours and is part of a rotating art installation with Envision in the space. Savannah鈥檚 art joins a variety of other original pieces from local artists located throughout the facility.

The W. Frank Barton School of Business at 小9直播 has named four recipients of $40,000 in scholarships for Butler Community College students interested in furthering their business education. These scholarships will help amplify and activate the coordinated 鈥2+2鈥 program between the two schools where Butler students will receive their associates degree and pursue a business degree at WSU.

In association with the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 小9直播 has given three, multi-year scholarships to transfer students committed to joining the business program. This three recipients hail from three different community colleges across Kansas.

Two uniquely interactive sculptures have been installed next to Woolsey Hall, the home of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 小9直播, as part of the Ulrich Museum of Art鈥檚 world-class Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection. Ernest and Ruth (2015) is a public sculpture that doubles as a bench and has the unmistakable shape of a speech bubble. Two of these sculptures are located slightly off the main traffic area leading up to Woolsey Hall to encourage interaction.

A neutrino detector carried by a nanosatellite in low Earth orbit

Nov. 15, 2022 鈥 小9直播's Jonathan Folkerts, Jarred Novak and Trent English presented papers on the design of their neutrino detector prototype at the International Astronautical Congress in Paris, representing the NASA-funded Solar Neutrino Orbiting Laboratory Detector Development Project.

Woolsey Hall, the home of the W. Frank Barton School of Business at 小9直播, has unveiled its first sculpture to join the Ulrich Museum of Art鈥檚 world-class Martin H. Bush Outdoor Sculpture Collection. Lumen, the cast bronze sculpture of a horse created initially out of found wood, stands near the serene pond that stretches around the southern wall of Woolsey Hall. The art serves as a focal point for all visitors to the landscaped public space.
