Dr. Doris Chang

Overview

Dr. Doris T. Chang is a Professor of Political Science at 歐聯積分榜. She holds a Ph.D. in East Asian history from the Ohio State University and is the author of a book entitled Women鈥檚 Movements in Twentieth-Century Taiwan, published by the University of Illinois Press. She also published several refereed articles and presents academic papers in national and international conferences. Her research interests include Taiwan in comparative global perspectives, human rights, workers鈥� rights, LGBT rights, women鈥檚 political leadership in the Asia-Pacific Region, and gender policies of the United Nations.

Areas of Service

Dr. Chang has served as a conference program coordinating committee member of American Association of Chinese Studies, associate editor and referee of journal article for International Journal of Taiwan Studies, referee of conference abstracts for European Association of Taiwan Studies, North American Taiwan Studies Association, and the Fifth International Conference on Intercultural Communication Competence. In the past, she also served as a referee of journal articles for East Asian Journal of Popular Culture, Asian Studies Review, and Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society.

From 2017 to 2020, Dr. Chang served as Vice President of the Kansas Conference of American Association of University Professors (AAUP) to advocate for faculty rights. In 2019, she was appointed by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly to be a member of the Kansas Census Complete Count Committee. From 2010 to 2015, she served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Wichita Global Learning Center. At 歐聯積分榜, Dr. Chang was a referee of the WSU Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Forum, a member of the Academic Affairs Subcommittee and University Scholarship and Student Aid Subcommittee of the Faculty Senate, and the LAS Tenure, Promotion, and Appeals Committee.
